Managing household waste in an environment-friendly way is an essential but often neglected requirement in residential areas. Keeping this in mind Eldeco Care has initiated the process of household waste management at various Eldeco projects. The waste will be segregated into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Non-biodegradable waste will be recycled for further use and biodegradable waste will be converted into manure. To start with it is being implemented at Eldeco Aamantran, Sec 119, Noida followed by other Eldeco projects.
Waste management under Eldeco Care
Every resident is required to keep 2 bins for Organic and Non-Organic waste
The segregated household waste will be collected, door-to-door and floor-to-floor, in 2 colour garbage bags with the help of a 2 bin trolley
Organic waste will be processed by OWC (Organic Waste Convertor)
Non-Organic waste will be taken off-site for further processing and recycling
Processed compost from organic waste will be used in maintaining greenery in and outside the complex
The impact will make on the environment
80% of household wastes will be reused/recycled with a target of 100%
The initiative will contribute to the sustainability of our environment
It will help in reducing the problem of overflowing landfill sites
STP: Under Eldeco Care we have STP (Sewerage Treatment Plant) at our township and group housing projects. Through this household and other wastewater is recycled and reused for various flushing, gardening and construction work purpose. We recycle approx 80% of the wastewater, which helps to reduce the use of groundwater. The manure produced in the filtration process is used for horticulture purpose within our complexes.
Rain Water Harvesting: All Eldeco developments are designed with extensive rainwater-harvesting systems. Rainwater collected from rooftops is used for recharging the groundwater table through underground recharge pits. This helps to maintain the underground water table.
E-Rickshaw: Pollution through public transport is a big concern in our cities and affects the quality of air. Eldeco Care has introduced pollution-free e-rickshaws at Eldeco townships to help and bring down carbon imprint. These e-rickshaws are battery operated and can carry approx. 5 to 6 people. This helps in saving fuel and cutting down pollution. This facility is available for residents living inside township to commute within the township with ease and in an environment-friendly way.
Solar Power: Solar panels have been installed at various Eldeco townships and group housing projects. By using the natural and non-polluting energy from the sun we heat the water, and send the heated water to existing geysers at homes during winters. This has helped our residents in cutting down energy bills by about 15%. At present solar water heaters are installed at Eldeco Estate One-Panipat, Eden Park-Neemrana and Estate One- Ludhiana.
Taking a step forward we now plan to install solar panels at our projects to produce electricity for street lighting and common areas.
